Weddings

I am an ordained minister and have performed many wedding ceremonies. Due to the intensive and personal nature of weddings I ask a deep commitment from the bride and groom in co-creating the ceremony to fit their individual beliefs and needs.

Cost – $1,000 – $3,000 plus travel expenses. The cost is depending on amount of preparation and travel.

Sample #1

Welcome-
Thank you for joining us for this Auspicious occasion. Today we shall witness and participate in the wedding of_________ and ___________.
The lovely couple would like to thank you all for attending, especially honoring their families and those whom have traveled great distances to be here.

_______ mother, _______, will now light a candle in honor of those loved ones who could not be here today.

Meditation-
Let us begin with a short reflection on love….
Relaxing back into your seats allow your eyes to close for a moment and bring full attention into the present moment. Feel your feet on the floor and your breath as at comes and goes.
I invite you to reflect for a moment on your own deepest experiences of love. The feelings of caring and tenderness, the experience of only want what is best for the beloved. Allow your hearts to relax and open. Enjoy the experience of recollecting the warmth and joy of love.
Now begin to send these feelings and wishes for love to _____and _______, wishing for their success and ongoing happiness in their relationship.

Marriage is the joining of two individuals in the uniting of life and love. Today, _____and _______are expressing their love by celebrating their commitment. As a community we are gathered together to express our support and rejoice in the spirit of eternal Love.

Sample #2

We have come together today to celebrate the love and marriage of __________and____________. The fact that so many people have traveled such a great distance to be here today is a testament in itself to the greatness of this relationship.

The couple would like to sincerely thank you all for being here.

Love is a quality of spirit and an attitude of the emotions, but marriage is a life’s work, a spiritual art form. Today, _____and _______are making a commitment to continue their life’s journey together, and we are here to witness this sacred event. Therefore, this is an occasion of both profound joy and great responsibility, and we who partake in it bind ourselves as witnesses to the uniting of the life and love that ______and ________are undertaking today.

Some say that the perfect relationship is one in which each partner brings strength to the others weaknesses. Where a balance, that would be unobtainable alone, is found. ______and _______have found such a balance.

Let us now allow the couple to express their love and the ways in which they have brought harmony to each-others life.

• Welcome- We come together today to bare witness to and participate in the vows of marriage between _______and ________.
• As we commence the ceremony please join with me in a short inner-reflection on Love.
– Allow your eyes to close for a moment and intentionally arrive here is the present moment…letting go of the busyness of getting here or getting ready….and enjoy a few mindful breaths….feel your feet on the ground….your belly raising and falling…with each breath…..now take a moment to reflect on your own deepest experience of Love…..the pure kind of love that demands nothing in return….a feeling closer to generosity than desire….while connecting to that feeling of Love…begin to…in your own way offer these wishes for ever-lasting love and devotion to ______and _______.
– After another moment of loving awareness….allow your eyes to be open and prepare to witness the expression of their Love.

• I would like to say a few words about Devotion and the Beloved.
To be devoted means to place ones heart in the care of….
In this case it is the offering of your hearts into the care of each-other…..
Some refer to the highest Truth as the Beloved…the all pervasive feeling of being loved and cared for by the great mystery of life …..
The Beloved is experienced internally with the body, heart and mind and is reflected through the eyes of our loved ones…..
The expression of true love is the devotion to the truth of each moment and the constant remembrance of Love being more important than anything else…..

Today ________and _______are prepared to offer their hearts into the care of one another and to embrace a life long commitment of seeing each other as the Beloved.

One of meanings of marriage is “a close union, a blend or a mixture of two things.” Marriage is a ceremony that both expressed long-term commitment to relationship and a legal union of two beings who are in love. ______and ______would like to state their gratitude for the privilege of being able to marry.

May the mixing together of these two lives bring about a blend of life and love that is a source of sustenance and inspiration for all who encounter them.
